Acupuncture

What is it?

Acupuncture involves inserting very thin needles at specific points in the body to manipulate the flow of
Qi (energy) and treat a variety of conditions.

How does it work?
The practitioner inserts very thin needles at certain points that are individualized to the patient’s
condition. The patient relaxes with the needles for 20 minutes.

What should I expect?
The first treatment an in-depth history is taken to diagnose the condition and create an individualized
treatment protocol.  You do not normally feel a pinch when the needles are inserted. However, some points are more sensitive than others.  If you do feel a pinch it dissipates within seconds.  You may feel warmth, tingling, or awareness of the needles during the 20 minute treatment.
How often treatment is needed depends on the condition.
